About This Episode
How can we produce and deliver engaging and effective online workshops? How do we translate our facilitation techniques online and what new methods can we use?
Many artists are facilitators and educators. As our physical spaces for teaching and facilitation is changing, new opportunities and avenues for digital teaching and learning are developing. There are also opportunities for artists, organisations and practitioners to share their skills and expertise.
This session is hosted by facilitator Dr. Tristan Schultz a Gamilaraay man based in Queensland. Tristan is known as a leading interdisciplinary designer and facilitator, Tristan will provide background and key considerations for best practice in engaging and delivering online sessions and workshops.
About The Series
Creative Connections is an online webinar series for the cultural and arts sectors and will offer practical, accessible and useful content delivered by industry experts on key topics and emerging themes.
The series is focused around the theme of adaptation, and sessions will explore digital adaptation, leadership adaptation and arts practice adaptation. Sessions will be facilitated by experts in specific topic areas, with over thirty sessions available.

Tristan Schultz
Tristan Schultz is a Gamilaroi Aboriginal Australian and European descendent and is the Founder and Co-Director of Relative Creative, a Jellurgal/ Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast strategic design agency. Relative Creative design communication, strategies, services, experiences and events that intersect strategic foresight and futures thinking, decolonial thinking and sustainable transitions.
His extensive professional experience spans service design, policy planning and strategic design, social design, graphic and communication design and illustration, product design, exhibition design, workshop and event design, participatory and co-design, design-led facilitation, public art commissions and design writing. Tristan and his practice collaborate with all levels of government, businesses, organisations and institutes that care for a viable future.
Tristan has a Bachelor of Design majoring in product design, a Masters of Design Futures with Honours and a PhD in Design. He has previously also been a lecturer in the design department at QCA and is an Honorary Adjunct Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney in the Design School. He has also published several articles and is one of seven international comrades founding the Decolonising Design Group.
