Chum Darvall joined Deustche Bank Australia and New Zealand in 1994 as Director and Treasurer, was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2002 and stepped down in 2011 to become Vice Chairman.
In early 1998, he became Head of Global Markets, responsible for all financial market-related activities. Chum was also part of the management group responsible for the integration of the New Zealand operation of Bankers Trust with Deutsche Bank in 1999. Chum is a council member for the Business Council of Australia. His Board memberships include Wilson HTM, Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), Centre for Independent Studies, the Financial Markets Foundation for Children, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) and Macquarie University Council.
In 2014, Chum was awarded a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the finance and banking sector, and through contributions to not-for-profit organisations and the performing arts.
