Darren Rudd has broad experience in strategic marketing and corporate engagement, including 11 years as GM Services Business Group Asia/Pacific for Alcatel-Lucent and five years as Lead Corporate Affairs Manager at the National Broadband Network.
He is the former CEO of AFTA, the peak body for Australia’s travel agents, and previously worked for multinational information services business Tata Consultancy Services as Head of Corporate Affairs in Australia and New Zealand for four years.
He began his career in a role allied to the travel and tourism sector: he designed core Hotel Information Systems for IBM in Hong Kong.
In 2019, the Minister for the Arts appointed Darren to the board of the Australia Council for the Arts. He also serves on the board of the Australia India Youth Dialogue and is a member of the Asia Society Australia advisory board.
He is a former President of the Australian Business School (AGSM) Alumni, and has been a member of the advisory board of the University of New South Wales Business School Alumni, and a member of the board of the State Library of NSW Foundation.
Darren holds an MBA (Executive) from the AGSM at UNSW and a Bachelor of Information Technology and Communication from the University of Wollongong.
