Performing Lines will be working in creative partnership with six of New South Wales’ finest artists and companies handpicked to create ambitious new works.

This partnership has been made possible by an Australia Council for the Arts and Arts NSW initiative, Managing and Producing Services (MAPS). This initiative provides independent theatre and dance artists and companies with management and producing services, touring and marketing support. Similar successes are underway in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.

The artists and companies were selected on their track record and potential to make a significant contribution to the development of New South Wales performing arts practice over the next 3 years. The artists and companies selected are Sue Healey, De Quincey Co, Martin del Amo, Branch Nebula, post, and Ride On Theatre.

Wendy Blacklock, General Manager of Performing Lines said:
“Twenty eight independent artists and small companies applied to be part of MAPS NSW – evidence of the great need for this important initiative. Selecting only six was a difficult task because of the highly competitive nature of the applicants.  After a rigorous selection process and much discussion the committee is thrilled to announce the chosen six.”

Performing Lines will work in collaboration with the selected artists to provide management, marketing, fundraising, touring and production support.
