The Australia Council for the Arts today expressed support for freedom of artistic expression, in accordance with the Australia Council Act 1975.
‘The Australia Council upholds the rights of freedom of artistic practice – within the confines of the law,’ said Australia Council chief executive officer Kathy Keele.
‘Bill Henson is widely recognised as one of Australia’s foremost visual artists, with a stellar international reputation, and his full body of work should be viewed in this context.’
