Australia Council for the Arts acting chief executive officer Ben Strout has welcomed the announcement of Mr Joe Gersh AM as deputy chair.
Mr Strout said: ‘I warmly welcome the appointment of Joe Gersh as the new deputy chair of the Australia Council for the Arts.’
‘Mr Gersh has a strong commitment to the arts – serving as chairman of the National Institute of Circus Arts and Artbank, the Australian Government’s art rental scheme.’
‘He will also bring extensive corporate, legal and community experience to the role.’
‘Alongside our recently appointed chairman James Strong AO, we look forward to continuing to strengthen and promote the value of the arts in Australia,’ Mr Strout said.
