The Australia Council for the Arts congratulates Big hART on receiving a NSW Local Government Cultural Award for its collaboration with Sutherland Shire Council on Junk Theory.
Sutherland Shire Council received the award for its leadership in developing and commissioning two arts-led cultural programs, Junk Theory and Faces of the Shire.
Both projects were acknowledged for addressing local community needs, assisting expression of community identity and facilitating cohesiveness.
Junk Theory has been supported by a partnership between the Australia Council and Arts NSW through their South West Sydney initiative.
