BOOKS ALIVE PROJECT DIRECTOR – BRETT OSMOND

The Australia Council for the Arts congratulates Brett Osmond on his appointment as marketing director at Random House.

Brett has been project director of the Books Alive program, Australia’s largest annual promotion of books and reading since 2003.

Books Alive chair Sandra Yates AO said: ‘I have to confess to mixed feelings – I’m thrilled that Brett has been offered such a significant opportunity at a publishing house that I really admire, but on a personal level, I will really miss Brett. He has been a terrific project leader for Books Alive, and a real pleasure to work with as a team member”.

Australia Council director market development Sandra Bender said: ‘Thanks to Brett’s enthusiasm and commitment, Books Alive enjoys a high level of support and participation from the Australian publishing industry.

‘With his legacy Books Alive will continue to grow and to encourage more Australians to discover the joys of reading.

‘We wish Brett all the best at Random House.’

The Australia Council has commenced the search for a new Books Alive project director and expects to confirm the appointment by the end of November 2007.
