CLASSICAL MUSIC AWARDS

Australia Council chief executive officer Kathy Keele and Council community interest representative Nicola Downer AM will present four awards at the 2007 APRA and Australian Music Centre’s Classical Music Awards in Sydney tonight.

These are the only awards specifically for contemporary classical music in Australia and honour the nation’s best. Kathy Keele will present Best Performance of an Australian Work and Best Composition by an Australian Composer.

With ABC Classic FM’s presenter Julia Lester as MC, the ceremony will be broadcast live nationally on ABC Classic FM from 7pm onwards.
