The Australia Council’s theatre board has released an outline of the proposed changes to the youth arts program grants category to be introduced next year.
After consultation with and feedback from companies supported through the youth arts program grant category in 2006 and 2007, changes have been made to the purpose of the category and the length of term for funding.
The aims of the theatre board in making these changes has been to clarify the purpose of the category in the ecology of the theatre sector and to provide more sustainable support for youth theatre companies.
