The Australia Council for the Arts is teaming up with Deakin University to provide study grants for arts marketing in 2007.

The study grants are available for people working in key organisations funded by the Australia Council.

Deakin’s Arts and Entertainment Management program plays a critical role in enhancing the performance of managers in this industry. The program is specifically designed for people working in the arts and is tailored to meet the needs of the arts sector.

Arts Marketing is offered online over a 13-week semester to allow both flexible study times and distance learning. Consequently applications are welcome from any state or territory.

The unit is available as a single subject, or as part of the following courses:

  • Graduate Certificate of Arts and Entertainment Management
  • Masters of Arts and Entertainment Management
  • Masters of Business Administration – Arts and Entertainment Management.

Selection criteria comprise:

  • the applicant’s academic record; and
  • their contribution to the arts and entertainment industry.

Five grants will be awarded to people under 35 years old.

The study grants are for $2100 to assist in the completion of Deakin University’s MMK792 Arts Marketing unit. The study grant is paid in two instalments. The first instalment will pay 50 per cent of tuition fees for the unit. The student will be responsible for paying the balance by the due date. The second instalment will reimburse the student’s payment, upon successful completion of this unit.

Closing date for all applications is 27th January 2007

Semester One 2007 starts 26th February 2007

Grants cannot be deferred to a future semester.
