The Australia Council for the Arts today announced the appointment of Lyn Wallis as its Director of Theatre.
As Director of Theatre, Ms Wallis will play an important leadership role in the Australian theatre sector and within the Australia Council.
Lyn Wallis has more than twenty years of professional experience as a creator, programmer, producer and manager of performing arts projects.
Most recently she has been working with the Metro Arts and Brisbane Powerhouse to develop an operational plan for the Brisbane Managing and Producing Services (MAPS), an initiative to support independent theatre artists.
She spent nine years as Company B’s inaugural Downstairs Theatre Director and Director of B Sharp, a curated program of independent theatre.
She has also been Deputy Chair of the Arts NSW Theatre Committee and a member of the Helpmann Awards Theatre Nominating Panel.
