Key speeches from the Australian Theatre Forum, held between 14 and 16 May 2009, are available online.
For the first time in more than 20 years, a major forum explored the urgent issues and possible futures for Australia’s theatre sector. The Australian Theatre Forum saw more than 200 representatives from the Australian theatre sector come together over three days.
The Australian Theatre Forum included many of Australia’s leading theatre practitioners and thinkers including Robyn Archer, Stephen Armstrong, Alison Croggon, Matt Lutton, Julian Meyrick, Chris Mead, Sarah Miller and Fiona Winning. It also included international speakers Tim Joss (UK), Jorg Karrenbauer (Germany) and from Improbable Theatre (UK).
The event was held at Melbourne’s Arts House Meat Market, and supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Victoria, the British Council and Goethe-Institut.
Audio clips of the major addresses by Eva Cox, Tim Goodwin, Tim Joss and Kelly O’Shanassy are available for download below.
More information, including full reports from the open space and action planning days, are available on the Australian Theatre Forum website.
