From April to November 2005 Audience and Market Development will present Leading Voices across Australia. The program brings some of the latest ideas and thinking about audience development and arts marketing to Australia’s arts community.
Audience development expert Seamus Smyth from the UK will be in Australia from 15-29 August 2005 to present an innovative whole-of-organisation approach to reaching broader arts audiences.
‘Not for the Likes of You’ will focus on how arts and cultural organisations can become accessible by changing their overall positioning and message, rather than just by implementing targeted audience development strategies.
Seamus is a director of Morton Smyth, a consultancy specialising in innovation, marketing, and helping organisations make strategic and management change based on audience insight. He has over 17 years experience in the private sector, including senior positions at the Royal Mail and Shell, but now focuses on social entrepeneurship and psychological access in the cultural sector.
Seamus is hosted by the Australia Council as part of the Leading Voices initiative.
