The Australia Council for the Arts congratulates Natasha Johns-Messenger on winning the Den Haag Sculptuur Rabobank Award 2007.
Natasha exhibited her work Silver Room Installation at the world-renowned contemporary sculpture exhibition Den Haag Sculptuur (The Hague Sculpture) which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary with De Overkant (Down Under) – a special jubilee exhibition of contemporary Australian sculpture and art in the public space. Twenty-eight leading Australian contemporary artists are taking part in the two-month event.
Natasha shares the prize with Dutch artist Harold de Bree. The two artists were presented with the prestigious award by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands at the opening of the exhibition on 15 June.
In 2006 Natasha was awarded the Australia Council’s International Studio
& Curatorial Program (ISCP) residency in New York, which she is undertaking throughout 2007-08.
