The Australia Council for the Arts today anounced the appointment of Dr Nick Herd to the newly-created position of director, research and strategic analysis.
Dr Herd has extensive experience in research, cultural policy, strategic leadership and industry advocacy. He has managed public reviews and consultations, and has high level government liaison and negotiation experience. He has worked in senior posts with the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal, the Australian Broadcasting Authority, the Screen Producers Association of Australia, and currently with Screen Australia. For many years, he worked as an independent consultant on a range of communications and cultural policy issues.
Dr Herd will be responsible for delivering the Australia Council’s strategic priority of ‘the knowledge centre of the arts in Australia’.
