The Australia Council for the Arts today announced the appointment of Tony Grybowski as executive director major performing arts, effective mid-November 2007.
In this position Tony Grybowski will play an important leadership role for the Australian major performing arts sector. Tony joins the Australia Council from a position as general manager, programming and innovation at Arts Victoria.
His extensive background in arts administration includes roles as general manager of the Australian Youth Orchestra and management roles at Orchestra Victoria, Sydney Symphony and Musica Viva.
He succeeds Dr Catherine Brown-Watt PSM, who heads up the Australia Council’s newly-created governance and public affairs division.
