One hundred small environmental design companies will have the opportunity to build their business through the Australian Design Platform.
A program to enable design firms develop their eco-design and entrepreneurial skills, the Australian Design Platform will soon be launched having recently been awarded $365,000 in AusIndustry funding.
Through the Australian Design Platform, designers will develop their ideas on the factory floor and manufacturers will have access to new ideas from contemporary designers.
The program will deliver a two-stage mentoring program for 100 small entrepreneurial design businesses in key regions nationwide, through professional workshops and mentorships in design, business development and financial management.
It will provide a significant boost to Australia’s thriving environmentally sustainable design sector.
The Australian Design Platform received funding through AusIndustry’s Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business (BESB) program.
The Australia Council’s visual arts board provided seed funding and advice to the program’s managers Eoin McEoin and Heidi Dokulil through the Maker to Manufacturer to Market initiative.
