OUR PLACE: INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIA NOW

The ‘Our Place: Indigenous Australia now’ exhibition is a unique insight into one of the oldest living cultures and most dynamic contemporary art movements in the world.

Originally a gift of the NSW and Victorian State Governments as Australia’s contribution to the Athens Cultural Olympiad program, the ‘Our Place: Indigenous Australia now’ exhibition is being hosted by the National Museum of China.

The Australia Council through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts board will support a performance for the exhibition’s opening. Matthew Doyle, who choreographed part of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Olympic Games, and dancers will call the audience together to the sound of the didjeridu.
