The new Saraswati Arts Program, named after the Indonesian goddess of learning and the arts, provides up to $20,000 for up to 10 projects per annum to organisations and individuals.
The Australia Council has teamed with The Australia Indonesia Institute, the Government’s council for supporting people-to-people links between the two countries, to launch this new program to support more collaborative ventures for artists in both countries.
Projects will be considered where there is already an existing relationship and where the outcomes are lively, contemporary and collaborative. The emphasis is on projects taking place in Indonesia, however, projects in Australia involving Indonesian partners and/or content are also eligible.
Saraswati Arts Program grants will not provide total funding for projects, so potential applicants must have support from other sources of funding.
Applications should be submitted by early June for consideration in July.
