SHANGHAI ATTRACTION FOR AUSTRALIAN NEW MEDIA ARTISTS

Leading artists and scientists from across Australia are heading to Shanghai to participate in the first comprehensive survey of Australian art and science collaborations in China.

Strange Attractors: charm between art and science is an exhibition that runs from 23 July to 31 August at the Zendai Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai, featuring artists and artistic teams from across Australia.

The exhibition is presented by Novamedia and the Zendai Museum, with support from the Australia Council for the Arts.

Antoanetta Ivanova, curator and producer of Strange Attractors said: ‘From striking visualisations of the human DNA to the investigations of rare plants, these works probe into some of life’s great mysteries and demonstrate the combined potential for art and science to illuminate these wondrous realms.’

‘The Zendai Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai is leading the way in China in presenting cutting edge international exhibitions, actively introducing local audiences to diverse range of contemporary ideas and new cultural experiences from around the world,’ Antoanetta said.
