The Australia Council for the Arts congratulates the Sydney Theatre Company on the success of its 2006 production The Lost Echo.
To win the Australia Council-sponsored award for Best New Australian Work, The Lost Echo‘s creators Barrie Kosky and Tom Wright beat an expanded field of six nominees, including The Adventures of Snugglepot & Cuddlepie and Little Ragged Blossom, Lucy Guerin Company’s Structure and Sadness, Honour Bound, The WA Opera’s The Love of the Nightingale and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
The Australia Council-funded Lucy Guerin Company also collected the Best Dance Helpmann for its production Structure and Sadness.
