Tina Seelig explores the art and science of creativity

Stanford University Professor Dr Tina Seelig will present a public talk in Sydney as part of a series of events offered under a new partnership between the UNSW Centre for Ideas, UNSW Art & Design and the Australia Council for the Arts.

Tina Seelig is a leading global expert on creativity, prolific teacher, mentor and bestselling author who provides practical tools on how to access and harness creativity.

“Tina argues creativity is something accessible to everyone, rather than being a magical quality available to a select few,” said Director of the UNSW Centre for Ideas, Ann Mossop.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr Tina Seelig to the UNSW Centre for Ideas, which presents a thought-provoking program of events and digital content from the globe’s leading thinkers,” she said.

“At UNSW Art & Design we aim to stimulate the creative processes of thinking and making that are essential to contemporary life and work. That’s why we are so excited to bring Tina Seelig to Australia,” said Dean of the Faculty of Art & Design and UNSW Chair of Arts and Culture, Professor Ross Harley.

“Tina’s work on the essential role creativity plays for everybody mirrors our approach at the University.”

Australia Council Executive Director Strategic Development and Advocacy Dr Wendy Were added: “The Australia Council’s vision is for a creatively connected Australia where creative enterprise is entrenched across society, industry and government as the fuel that ignites our social, cultural and economic success. We are delighted to partner with UNSW Centre for Ideas and UNSW Art & Design to enable this great public discussion of how creativity makes all our lives better and how it can build more prosperous and connected communities,” she said.
