A major exhibition by Australian photomedia artist Rosemary Laing will be shown in the city of Odense, Denmark between May and September 2006.

The unquiet landscapes of Rosemary Laing will tour to Kunsthallen Brandts in the city of Odense, Denmark where it will be exhibited from 20 May to 3 September 2006. It was initially exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary (MCA) in Sydney in 2005.

Rosemary Laing is a leading Australian photomedia artist. Her haunting photographs create poetic and resonant relationships between the Australian landscape and changing notions of place, as well as a powerful commentary on society and culture.

The unquiet landscapes of Rosemary Laing focuses on recent works dating from 1999 to the present, covering major series and drawing on their interconnections. These include a selection of works dealing with flight including flight research (1999) and bulletproofglass (2002) and with landscape including groundspeed (2001) and one dozen unnatural disasters in the Australian landscape (2003); there is also a component of work from her new project recently completed in South Australia.

The Kunsthallen Brandts is situated in Odense in southern Denmark and is housed in a large reclaimed cloth mill in which today is a vibrant cultural centre housing performing arts spaces and a cutting edge visual arts program.

The exhibition tour is supported by the visual arts board.  The MCA is supported by the Australia Council through the visual arts board and the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments.
