Creative Australia acknowledges the passing of artist, strategist and mentor, Norman Armour and recognises his incredible impact on the Australian and global arts sector.

He was co-founder of Vancouver’s world-renowned PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and was its Artistic Director for over a decade. His loss has been deeply felt by many at Creative Australia, as our former International Engagement Consultant – North America (Canada, Mexico, USA).

Creative Australia CEO Adrian Collette AM said:

“Norman was an incredible artist, strategist, mentor, and human, whose impact on the Australian arts sector is immeasurable (and echoed around the world). During his time at PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and working with us, he championed countless Australian artists, facilitating pathways and collaborations.

Norman had a unique ability to unite people. He celebrated art and the artist with unrivalled enthusiasm and warmth. His expertise was first class, but he always held space for collaboration and new ideas. His memory and legacy will endure, and he will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his friends, colleagues, and family.”
