Creative Australia acknowledges the passing of Roz Hervey, an outstanding dancer, choreographer, director and producer.
Ms Hervey’s dance career spanned more than 30 years, performing for numerous dance, dance theatre and theatre companies including: DV8, Force Majeure, Sydney Front, Dancenorth, Theatre of Image, Sue Healey, Meryl Tankard Company, and One Extra Company.

She had a long association with Force Majeure, spending more than a decade there as Associate Artist and in 2002 her performance in Kate Champion’s Same, same But Different won her the Ausdance ‘Outstanding performance by a female dancer’.
As a choreographer Roz Hervey worked for the South Australian companies Slingsby, Patch Theatre Company and Brink Productions.
Roz also had directing success, winning awards as a co-director for Me and My Shadow and Zooom for Patch Theatre Company and receiving acclaim as an Associate Director on Force Majeure’s Never did me any Harm.
Roz was a feature of the Adelaide arts sector, producing, performing and directing; and for the past nine years she devised and produced work as the Creative Producer for Restless Dance Theatre.
After being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2022 Roz threw all her energies into producing more outstanding work and making the most of precious family time.
