YOUNG AUSTRALIAN DANCER HEADS TO US

Young ballet dancer, Luke Ingham, heads overseas for a short study tour thanks to Young and Emerging Artist funding through the major performing arts board.

A corps de ballet member with the Australian Ballet, 21 year old Luke will undertake a three-week study trip and participate in classes with four of America’s leading ballet companies:

  • New York City Ballet
  • American Ballet Theatre
  • Pacific Northwest Ballet and
  • San Francisco Ballet.

Luke was born in Mt Gambier, South Australia (birthplace of the late Sir Robert Helpmann) and joined The Australian Ballet School at the age of 15, winning the Gary Norman Achievement Award in 2002 and the Friends of The Australian Ballet Scholarship in 2003.
