Research at Creative Australia
Our research aims to increase our understanding of how arts and creativity impacts and enriches people’s lives. Through in-depth research and evaluation, we aim to support open discussion about creative activity and to equip the sector with information to work strategically and accountably.
Creative Australia has a legislative mandate to conduct and commission research about the arts, and to evaluate the impact of the organisation’s support. Our investment in research has built a strong body of evidence that is internationally recognised.
Our research, analysis and evaluation work are essential parts of how we inform policy advice, decision-making, strategic planning and advocacy. Research supports the sector with information on arts practice, audiences and markets, and leverages opportunities for new investment. It provides evidence that forms the basis of Creative Australia’s targeted submissions to government inquiries and reviews.
