Creative Australia’s vision for reconciliation is a fair, connected and creative nation that embraces the unique places, cultures and histories of First Nations peoples.

First Nations cultures are central to our shared humanity, to our development and to imagining our future

We work towards this vision by centring self-determination, observing the Protocols for using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the Arts and embracing First Nations guidance. We walk together with respect and take responsibility for the work of making change.

Our investment, leadership and industry collaboration help shape a fair, safe and respectful creative work environment for First Nations self-determined arts and cultural expression to benefit all Australians.

Creative Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan

Creative Australia’s 2025-28 Reconciliation Action Plan will be launched in 2025.

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations Peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions.

We are privileged to gather on this Country and through this website to share knowledge, culture and art now, and with future generations.

First Nations Peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have died.
