In June 2026, Creative Australia released Creative Transformations: Results of the National Arts Participation Survey, the sixth study in the landmark research series exploring Australians’ attitudes towards, and engagement with, arts and creativity.

The Audience Data Explorer is an interactive way to engage with the results and trends of the Survey. The Explorer dives into live performance attendance, creative engagement, and unpack insights into motivations and barriers that Australians experience in their attendance or engagement.

For the first time, the Explorer allows you to quickly compare between two data sets and create custom filters to understand specific cohorts.

Audience Segments

The Explorer surfaces 5 audience segments that provide a quick way to split up the general population into smaller actionable cohorts. The 5 audience segments are the same segments from the 2022 and 2019 surveys allowing for longer term trends to become visible and be analysed.

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations Peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions.

We are privileged to gather on this Country and through this website to share knowledge, culture and art now, and with future generations.

First Nations Peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have died.
