About the resource

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is the national regulator for charities in Australia. Its website is a useful resource if you run or work with a charity or not-for-profit organisation in Australia.

Use the ACNC website to:

  • find information about how charities are registered and regulated
  • understand the rules and responsibilities that apply to charities
  • access guidance, tools and resources to help charities meet their obligations
  • learn how the ACNC works to build public trust and confidence in Australia’s charity and not-for-profit sector.

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations Peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions.

We are privileged to gather on this Country and through this website to share knowledge, culture and art now, and with future generations.

First Nations Peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have died.
