Supporting the global ambitions of Australian artists: Music Australia announces the latest recipients of the Export Development Fund

39 projects will receive investment through Music Australia’s Export Development Fund, supporting Australian artists, producers and composers to undertake career-defining activities around the world.

The seventh round of the Export Development Fund sees $828,537.66 invested in projects involving a range of artists; from solo acts to bands, producers, composers and songwriters to support headline tours, debut showcase performances, artist residencies, publicity campaigns and more. 

The Export Development Fund is a matched funding initiative, designed to elevate emerging, breakthrough, and established acts into the international market, whilst fostering sustainable and thriving careers. The program focuses on three key pathways:  Performance and Touring,  Professional and Artistic Development  and  Market and Audience Development. 
 
Since its launch, the Export Development Fund has successfully supported over 500 projects to date highlighting the importance of a dedicated contemporary music export program in Australia. 

Among the highlights of the 39 supported projects: 

  • Rising South Sudanese Australian rapper Vv Pete will embark on her debut Europe tour with close collaborator and Trackwork founder UTILITY and will perform on the opening night of CTM Festival, Berlin.
  • Gold Coast alt-rock band Selve will support their recently released sophomore album ‘Breaking Into Heaven’, with an 18-show headline tour across Europe.
  • Indie-rock band The Belair Lip Bombs will return to North America for a co-headline tour alongside Australian alternative band dust.
  • Composer and sound designer Rachel Lewindon in collaboration with composer, drummer and artist Oliver Hanane will undertake a winter residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts to create ‘Grimm’, a recorded album offering a contemporary take on Grimm’s fairytales, accompanied by a visual score.
  • Hardcore outfit SECRET WORLD will be supporting American hardcore punk band DRAIN across a 19-date tour of the U.S.
  • WA five-piece South Summit will engage PR, radio and marketing for audience development whilst supporting internationally renowned artist Tash Sultana across the UK and Europe.
  • Acclaimed Australian-Taiwanese pianist and composer Belle Chen will travel to Europe and China for career-defining solo headline shows.
  • Multi-award-winning screen composer Angela Little will attend Game Developers Conference 2026 (GDC) to expand on her artistic and professional development in the digital games industry.
