Help us give voice to the silenced stories of refugees who came to Australia by boat.
About The Seasick
The Seasick graphic novel will make a unique contribution to Australia’s cultural life by sharing the voices and stories of people who are often overlooked or misunderstood. Its visual and accessible format will reach a wide audience, including younger readers and those with limited English. Alongside its artistic value, the project aims to encourage greater compassion and understanding of migration and to challenge negative ideas about refugees and asylum seekers.
We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.
We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways, and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions. We are privileged to gather on this Country and to share knowledge, culture and art, now and with future generations.
