Help Gamelan DanAnda launch our Youth Summer School, connecting young Australians with Balinese music, dance, and culture.

About

Gamelan DanAnda (GDA) is a Balinese gamelan orchestra based in Melbourne. They mostly perform traditional Gong Kebyar, featuring shimmering cascades, virtuosic rhythms and breathtaking crescendos. With community at their core, they move easily from community gatherings to major festivals. Teaching, preserving and presenting tradition, while fostering wild contemporary fusions.

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways, and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions. We are privileged to gather on this Country and to share knowledge, culture and art, now and with future generations.
