In 2027, ARCO brings Historically Informed Performance concerts, regional tours, community workshops, world-premiere albums and a national Beethoven youth celebration.

About

The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra specialises in historically informed performance (HIP) of late 18th- to early 20th-century orchestral and chamber music repertoire on period instruments and is at the forefront of the HIP scene, staying abreast with the latest research and developments around the world by collaborating with key guest musicians and musicologists. Under the co-artistic direction of Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen, the orchestra has been highly praised as “rich, impassioned, and faultlessly realised ... a thrilling example of HIP with all the right strings attached” (The Age).

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways, and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions. We are privileged to gather on this Country and to share knowledge, culture and art, now and with future generations.
