Cultural Mediators Program

This program is open to front of house and/or public engagement staff from Australian state and territory galleries and museums, enabling them to gain hands on experience at the Venice Biennale.

We provide creative and cultural practitioners with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the Venice Biennale.

The Cultural Mediators Program is a unique development opportunity for Australian creative and cultural practitioners to develop their skills at the Venice Biennale.

As part of this program, participants will work in the Australia Pavilion, engaging with international visitors and helping them connect with the exhibition.

The program offers:

  • Hands-on experience – gain valuable skills in exhibition mediation and visitor engagement.
  • Professional development – receive training to confidently facilitate conversations about art with a global audience.
  • Career growth – build international networks and gain experience at a major global arts event.

Who can apply?

For the Venice Biennale 2026, Creative Australia is engaging with state and territory galleries and museums to identify front of house and/or public engagement staff suitable to undertake cultural mediation for the Australia Pavilion during the Biennale in 2026.

We acknowledge the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honour their Elders past and present.

We respect their deep enduring connection to their lands, waterways and surrounding clan groups since time immemorial. We cherish the richness of First Nations Peoples’ artistic and cultural expressions.

We are privileged to gather on this Country and through this website to share knowledge, culture and art now, and with future generations.

First Nations Peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have died.
