The Parliament of Australia has passed the Creative Australia Amendment (Implementation of Revive) Bill 2024. This is the final piece of legislation in establishing all the functions of Creative Australia under the National Cultural Policy, Revive.

This includes the establishment of Writing Australia, which will commence from 1 July 2025.

Appointments to the Writing Australia Council will be made by Minister for the Arts, The Hon Tony Burke MP.
