Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.  His business career started at General Motors and after a short period he moved to A.C. Nielsen in market research.

His advertising career began at Monahan Dayman Adams and after 3 years there he joined Clemenger in 1979 in account management.  He was appointed a Director of the Company in 1984.  He was appointed Managing Director of Clemenger BBDO Melbourne Pty Ltd in 1989.

In 1998 he was appointed Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Clemenger Group.  Clemenger Group is Australia’s largest advertising and marketing communications network and employs 1200 people in Australia and New Zealand.  It has operations covering advertising, media planning and buying, digital marketing, data analytics, ‘e’-commerce, public affairs, public relations, market research, field marketing, experiential marketing.

Clemenger agencies have been recognised for their creativity over many years.  Clemenger BBDO in Australia has been named Creative Agency of the Decade in Campaign Brief Magazine and Colenso BBDO is Campaign Brief Agency of the Decade in New Zealand.

Robert Morgan was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2014.

Clemenger Group has a long history of support for the arts, including recent sponsorships of the NGV and Art Gallery of NSW.

He is a Director of BBDO Worldwide and a long-term Director of the Sydney Swans.  He served on the Board of Opera Australia for over 10 years.

He is married to Vanessa, who shares his passion for the arts and sport.  They have two children and live in Sydney.
